Post 1

Hello everyone!

Today I will talk about a country that I would like to visit; it is United States because I want to return to New York.

I visited the city in the year 2020 and it was an incredible experience. You could say that the whole world is in New York because many different cultures coexist there.

For example, the second day of the trip, we had to take a taxi and the driver was an Indian man wearing a turban. We toured the Jewish neighborhood of Brooklyn and noticed that the women were dressed in black, they also covered their heads with scarves or wigs. The men wore hats and had long wavy sideburns. We finished the tour in Chinatown, it really felt like being in China due to the people of that nationality walking around the place and the number of restaurants, stores and beauty salons with posters in Chinese.

Another reason to come back is, of course, the art museums. The collections are very varied, you can find from Egyptian pieces to contemporary painting. I remember looking for the restroom and, in the way, I saw paintings of Van Gogh, Monet, and Degas. It was like meeting friends that I had not seen in a long time.

    What a great experience. I've never been there, but I would love to especially because of what you say about the coexistence of different cultures. That seems interesting to observe.

    I guess it must have been amazing to see all of that cultural mix. I'm not a big fan of the United States but I would love to go to the Art Museums like the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. It's so cool that you have gone!

    What a good experience you had :-)). I think that I would like to know the places you mention, but on the one hand it bothers me how the United States has sold us the idea that it is the center of the world. I refuse to support them.

  Hello everyone! Finally, I will share with you my experience writing blogs and learning English at university. Before to course this subject, I had many doubts Will I be able to speak English in class? Will I be able to understand the instructions?   Also, I was afraid of having a very low level of English in relation to my classmates. However, after the first class I noticed that it was not so terrible, I understand what the teacher said and I could introduce myself. The blogs have been a great opportunity to learn more vocabulary about different topics like movies, travels, our careers, etc. At the beginning, I took a long time to write each post, but with the passage of the weeks, I gained more confidence and it took me less time.   A good advice to practice is to write a diary, for example, you can talk about what you do in the day, the books you read or the TV series you watched.   Hello everyone! The topic of this week is my favourite movie. I like to watch movies but I have not seen many. My favourite genre is fantasy, I love to see a different world building, original settings and clothing. An example of this type of movies are Harry Potter series, however, I had to admit that I prefer the books.     My least favourite genre is horror. I can’t watch horror movies because it scared me so much. When I was a child me and my cousins saw Mama , I got traumatized. The movie was about two sisters who lived a long time in a forest raised by a ghost. Years later, the girls were living with their uncles. The ghost never left them because, in life, she was a woman who scaped from a sanatorium to recover her daughter, but both died in the attempt.   Hello everyone! Today I will talk about Postgraduate Studies. Masters and doctorates are great opportunities to learn and improve in an area of your career.   Also, if you have postgraduate studies, you will have more chances to get a job. In my school days, I wanted to study Arts, take a restoration course and do a Master in Museology. In the first year of the career, I realized that restoration and museology are areas that require a lot of responsibility and I don’t feel able to follow that path.      In the other hand, I have been working on a mentoring program during this year. It’s been a good experience, I love sharing information, resolve doubts and talk with other students. For this reason, I want to do the Master in Visual Arts, with that degree, you are able to be a teacher in our university.      If I did other masters or a doctorate, I would like to study in another country or, alternatively, with distance learning.
