Hello everyone!
Today I will talk about “Changes to my study programme”.
The truth is that I like my actual curriculum. We have the possibility to choose an area to specialize and, since third grade, another workshop to complement. Now the new generations can choose three different specialties, but I think it’s too much academic load. Also, in their first and second year, they won’t have alternative subjects like analog photography, collage or digital image.
In both cases, the university consumes all your time. It´s difficult take a break and do another activity, you don´t stop wondering Do I really have time? Shouldn’t I be working? I think that teachers should be realistic with the number of evaluations and the lead time.
About workload and length of studies, it seems to me that the number of subjects and semesters is fine. I can only emphasize the importance of setting deadlines and other details with students.
In the other hand, physical conditions of the faculty are a great topic, I don’t know where to begin. First of all, the rooms are not big enough to work comfortably or install our artworks during the exams. In second place, the ceilings are asbestos (a carcinogenic material) and have a lot of leaks. The non-asbestos roofs were damaged in the pandemic, so the cafeteria, the auditorium and the library are closed. Thirdly, there are devices in bad shape like the kilns, lockers or easels. Fourthly, we need more technological gadgets like projectors in all the rooms or computers with the most common systems in the library.
Finally, I think that teachers should also have a pedagogy degree because many of them are great artists but they don’t know how to teach or deal with the students properly.
i agree, the infrastructure in almost all the workshops needs a renovation with urgency!!!
ResponderBorrarIt is true that with the change of assignments the academic load is more intense, I like the previous curriculum
ResponderBorraras always, infrastructure will always be an important issue, and I think it is true that there are teachers who do not know how to treat their students with the same respect they deserve.
