Hello everyone!

Today’s post is about a photograph that I like. I chose this photograph of Valparaíso taken by me the last week.

A few days ago, my uncles invited me to Valparaíso for the day. I accepted immediately because it is one of my favourite cities in Chile. I love the houses in the hills, the architecture, the stairs, the viewpoints, the murals and the worn luck of the streets. I thing that all the points of view are different and interesting in Valparaíso, there is always something to observe.

In the city, we toured Concepción and Alegre hills. Me and my aunt had already visited Valparaíso several times but that was my uncle’s first time there.  He was impressed with the architecture, the viewpoints and the steep streets. On the other hand, He didn’t like the fact that there was a lot of trash and bad smells.

Returning to the main subject, that was my uncle’s first time in Valparaíso so he couldn’t leave without having gone down one of the traditional elevators (and without having ridden on a trolleybus but we lacked time). At the afternoon, we went to the Reina Victoria Elevator. I was taking pictures while we were going down. That is the origin of the photograph, I like it because it has all the things that I love about the city. The extra points are the different house colors and the trees.

  5. What a nice picture !! I went several times back in 2019 to Valparaiso and I liked a lot the Reina Victoria elevator because of the slide that is on the top. As you say the architecture and construction in general of that city is really beautiful!!
